Haar onderzoek betreft de effectiviteit van een cursus voor (mild-)depressieve ouderen. Doel van de cursus is om de deelnemers zelf de somberheid te helpen overwinnen. Ruim 250 cursisten hebben deelgenomen aan het onderzoek. Van alle cursisten zijn de voor- en nametingen binnen, van ongeveer de helft van de cursisten zijn ook de twee follow-up metingen binnen. Het effect van de cursus is onderzocht in een randomised clinical trial, een andere belangrijke vraag is of er cliënt kenmerken zijn die een positief effect van de cursus voorspellen. Hiertoe zijn er naast uitkomstmaten ook een groot aantal psychische en sociale meetinstrumenten afgenomen. Met een experiment naar de invloed van stemming op zelf-attributies en geheugen draagt ze bij aan onderzoek naar de kwetsbaarheid voor het opnieuw krijgen van een depressie, 60 cursisten hebben hieraan deelgenomen.
