Daan Scheepers studeerde sociale psychologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Aan dezelfde universiteit verdedigde hij in 2002 zijn proefschrift over ingroup bias. Sinds die tijd werkt hij aan de Universiteit Leiden als universitair docent.  

Onderzoek

Het onderzoek van Daan Scheepers richt zich op de motivationele aspecten van groepsprocessen en intergroepsrelaties. Specifiek richt hij zich op: 1. De motivationele toestanden van dreiging en uitdaging in relatie tot sociale identiteit en intergroepsrelaties; 2. De functies van in-group bias; en 3. Regulatory focus in relatie tot groepsdynamische processen.
